How it all began...
The renovation of the main building was completed in 2022.
In 2014 we bought the building, which had last been renovated by an architect couple from Stuttgart until 1986.
In the 1970s and 80s, an elderly artist couple wanted to use "Das Schlössle" as a multi-generational home. Unfortunately, they never lived to see the completion of the years of work.
Until then, the "Schlössle" had been used since the 1960s as accommodation for guest workers of the industry then located there.
A post office was also located there from the 1950s onwards.
At the beginning of National Socialism in the 1930s, the "Schlössle" was used by the Gauleitung as a base, but was soon cleared again and used for private purposes.
In the 1870s, the building materials for the Gäubahn (Stuttgart-Singen) railway were stored in the courtyard of the castle.
The present castle was built between 1807 and 1809 on the walls of the predecessor building from 1675, which had burned down in 1800.
The construction was commissioned by Christian Freiherr von Münch, an Augsburg banker who had acquired a title of nobility through the indebtedness of the Bavarian king and married the daughter of the Mühringen Freiherr, whose inheritance also included mills.
The old castle was a two-winged timber-framed building with various outbuildings, which Chief Hunting Master Georg Christoph von Schönfeld had built as a representative residence between 1668 and 1675.
